Spanglish

The idea of this section is to explore the dynamics of the acquisition of two languages, which as you know are English and Spanish. Despite being two of the most common languages in the world, their acquisition remains a unique and wonderful process.

During this process, the child is approaching the vocabulary, verbs, the lexical rules of the language .  On many occasions the two linguistic codes are mixed resulting in new expressions, unique developments, neologisms that we love deeply.

The blog name comes from this, the essence of our family is bilingual, bi-cultural and we are proud that it´s just so. We believe that for our children it is an even richer experience than it has been for us to share two linguistic codes, because they have no previous programming, they live it with ease. We believe it is a great thing that in their mind they have two different ways of seeing the world and hope that this will allow them to stand with some independence in life wherever they are.

It´s not something that only happens with the children, we jump from one language to the other depending on the situation, and the children are quick to pick up on this and use it also.
